'Style My Baby' Commercial Shoot {Wendy Grant Photography}
I just love it when mummies get creative and set up their own businesses! One of my clients is doing exactly that and hired me to take some lifestyle photographs for her website, which will be definitely one to look out for. The right location was a key factor for this shoot and as K will be operating mainly in London I met her and the children there at her aunt's last Thursday. I've photographed R several times now and he is an absolute natural ~ Hedges, the dog was a pretty good model too! To see more of my commercial photography please click here.
Angels & FIshes in the Woods {Commercial ~ Wendy Grant Photography}
This is one of my favourites from last week's commercial shoot for Angels & Fishes. The model is my own lovely grand daughter Elm, whom we have been trying to photograph for two years! She's either been unavailable or sick when the shoots were scheduled. It was a dull windy afternoon at Coton Manor Garden, and there were far more people about than I expected, but we got some great lifestyle shots!
Angels & FIshes Christening Wear {Commercial Photographer ~ Northamptonshire}
It was a busy day at last Thursday's commercial shoot with Angels & Fishes, but all three models did really well! We prefer to go outside on location for the lifestyle shoots but it's just too cold at this time of the year for these little people ~ and me. Anyway these are a couple of little tasters!
Angels & Fishes Christening Wear {Commercial Photographer ~ Northamptonshire}
I'm really looking forward to my next commercial shoot with Angels & Fishes, which is coming up soon! Angela designs the most beautiful special occasion and christening wear for children ~ and everything is handmade using fabrics and trimmings from the UK. So if you're looking for something special for your little person, stop by Angela's website!
Commercial Photographs for Ceranade Ceramics {Northamptonshire ~ Wendy Grant Photography}
I don't often do commercial shoots, however, like to support the work of my fellow creatives at the Portfolio Innovation Centre when I can, especially when their businesses compliment my maternity, newborn and family photography. Nita whom runs Ceranade Ceramics creates the most beautiful work . . . I could have photographed it all day long! As well as these lovely little gems, Nita creates fabulous cake stands and does baby hand and feet clay impressions! These are a couple of my favourites from yesterday's shoot.
Angels & Fishes in the Secret Garden!
Angela whom runs Angels & Fishes, has been designing an exciting new range of children's clothes in collaboration with Oxfam in Northamptonshire. These are just a few of my favourites from Saturday's commercial creative session. One of our models' mummies suggested the Secret Garden in Wolverton as the perfect location for us and it was just lovely! The gardeners gave us a warm welcome and Asha and Robyn were fantastic!
Special Occasion & Christening Wear for Babies & Children
As I specialise in Maternity Newborn Baby and Children's portraits I don't accept many commercial commissions, but absolutely love Angela's designs for her company Angels & Fishes and am delighted to be able to help her promote her fabulous work. This is one of my favourite outfits for little girls . . . I could just picture my two year old grand daughter Elm in it at our recent session when I was creating some new publicity photographs for Angela's website.
I Could Have Danced All Night . . . but was taking photos!

I had an amazing evening at the Hilton Hotel with Dance Synergy recently! It's definitely where it's all happening! Dance Synergy offers a revolutionary new approach to modern jive dancing, combining many forms of dance styles such as Jive, Tango, Salsa and Latin into one easy to learn dance. Fun, easy to follow classes for all abilities, are followed by freestyle dance to fantastic tunes from the DJ. Many thanks to Simon and his team for inviting me along to create some new publicity photographs. I had a brilliant time!
Fabulously Funky Cakes . . . again

It's always a pleasure to see the lovely Ceri from the Funky Cake Co. I had a great time at our recent photo shoot creating some fabulous new photographs for her website. These cakes are the real deal . . . believe me they taste as good as they look!
Spotty Cake Stands & Baby Handprints . . .

I had a brilliant time on Monday with the lovely Nita from Ceranade, creating some publicity photographs for her so that she can update her website. I can't wait to take one of her cake stands to my next shoot with Ceri from the Funky Cake Co. Apart from the popular clay hand and foot impressions of babies and animals that Nita is well known for, she creates the most wonderful ceramic beads and a whole host of other goodies. You can also opt to have a painting party at home . . . just pick up what you need from the studio and get creative!
Fun in the Sun with Children's Shoebox!

I had a fantastic time with Ellen and Katya from Children's Shoebox, and their children at Sywell Park this weekend! I was creating some funky images to cover the walls of their new shop at 15 Collingtree Road, Northampton. The location and weather was just perfect . . . and the children were super models. Not only do Children's Shoebox have an exciting range of shoes, once your child has outgrown theirs, Ellen and Katya will take the shoes back and send them to needy children.
Creative FINKing . . .

I rose to the challenge of absolutely no natural lighting at Monday's photo shoot for FINK. Although I do very few business photographs now, I couldn't refuse the lovely Lisa when she asked me to take their press release photographs for FINK's exciting new products launch at February's International Spring Fair 09 . . . all designed to get you talking! Lisa's not only passionate about the art of conversation and on a mission to get people talking, but she's a real inspiration to all women in business. And if you can't get to the Fair then Lisa's products will be available at their online store from 1st March 09.
Strictly Funky Cakes . . .

These really are yummy! I lunched with the lovely Ceri today from the Funky Cake Co whom is designing and making a cake for my grand daughter's first birthday. I always enjoy our meetings. Bound by a love of creating something unique that bears our distinctive styles and - from a business viewpoint - appealing to the same audience, we had loads to talk about. The time really flew past!
Babes In The Wood

Back at Salcey Forest taking photographs of some really beautiful special occasion dresses worn by the gorgeous Juel, whom was quite a natural! She was modelling one of Angela's Angels and Fishes designs. Do look out for them on Angela's website, which will be up and running soon. Am looking forward to the Spring when the weather's better and we can get Juel and my grand daughter Elm together to model some more of Angela's fabulous designs.
Bursting with Creativity . . . Creative Networking & Ideas
No man is an island, which is why I really look forward to networking with other businesses and especially with like minded women. I have become involved with two new launches recently: WIBN at Wellingborough and an informal group at Towcester that shows real promise. It's great to see all this activity in these difficult financial times but it does reinforce the fact that no business can survive out there on its own.
My commercial photography is enjoying a new boost from bringing complimentary businesses together; who share my fee and all benefit from my photographs that will convince and motivate their audiences. For more creative ideas look up Ayd Instone. I was at the Portfolio Innovation Centre last month where Ayd gave a really original presentation about Creativity and Innovation. It's definitely worth signing up for his newsletter if you are looking for a bit of inspiration.
Inspiring Confidence
I'm looking forward to this event next week, supported by Business Link, Business4Women and EMBA and am busy organising my promotion material. It's always good to meet up with other women in business so if you'd like to come along, call Rachel on 01933 664437.
Tree Hugging Poses for Corporate Photos
To Hug or Not To Hug . . . that is the questionI'm really chufffed to see my photos on the front cover of the August Recruitment International magazine. This is my first foray into graphic design since my Foundation Course but when my lovely clients, Bill Boorman Consultancy, asked me to design a cover using the photos I'd taken of them a few weeks before, I couldn't refuse. Fran asked me to take their company's publicity photos because she wanted something different from the usual staid corporate look. We decided on a nearby quiet area with a few big trees. Really wish I'd tried a tree hugging pose with them all now; it would have been fun and they would have been up for it. Nevertheless we all enjoyed the session, which was very relaxed, and they've got some cracking new photos for their website and publicity material. Keep checking my website for more Publicity Photos. By the way Bill's written a great article in the magazine too . . .
